Catholic Charities North Dakota: New Names, Same Support for Families
Three Catholic Charities North Dakota programs have new names. What hasn't changed is the support for expectant parents, adoptive families and kids in foster care.

New Names, Same Commitment
For some families, they reach out to Catholic Charities to learn about what adoption could look like. For others, it's finding support years after a child has joined their family. Catholic Charities North Dakota works with families at both points, and throughout the experiences in between, through adoption, pregnancy and parenting support, and services that continue after adoption or guardianship is finalized.
Now, three of the organization's programs have new names. For parents who recognize the former names or are discovering these resources for the first time, the most important message is simple:
The names have changed, but the commitment to compassionate care remains the same.
Strong Roots Bright Futures
Previously known as Pregnancy, Parenting, and Adoption Services
Strong Roots Bright Futures supports expectant parents and families preparing to grow through adoption. Its work includes pregnancy and parenting assistance, infant adoption, and support for families pursuing an out of state, identified, or international adoption. The new name reflects the program's focus on helping children and families build stability and lasting support in preparation for a bright future.
For expectant parents making an adoption plan or choosing to parent their baby, that support extends through pregnancy, birth, and the post-partum period. The relationship is not limited to a single decision or milestone. The team remains available as parents navigate what comes next.
Prospective adoptive parents are provided comprehensive support through home study services, placement services, and post-placement/post-adoption services offering education and guidance every step of the way.
North Dakota Adoption Network
Formerly known as Adults Adopting Special Kids (AASK)
The North Dakota Adoption Network continues to support children in foster care who need permanent families and the families preparing to welcome them.
Families preparing to adopt are supported every step of the way. Through training, education, and ongoing guidance, families gain a deeper understanding of the unique needs and experiences of children in foster care while preparing to provide the stability, connection, and lifelong commitment every child deserves.
North Dakota Post Permanency Network
Formerly known as the North Dakota Post Adopt Network
Finalization is an important milestone, but a family's journey continues long after that day, and so can support and connection. The North Dakota Post Permanency Network provides ongoing support to families after adoption or guardianship has been finalized.
Families are supported as they navigate the joys, changes, and challenges that can come after permanency. Support may include one-on-one guidance, parenting education, referrals to community resources, support groups, family events and retreats, and opportunities to connect with other adoptive and guardianship families.
These services create opportunities for families to build a strong network of support, connect with others who share similar experiences, and find encouragement along the way. Services are voluntary and provided at no cost.
Together, the three programs provide support and connection for children and families throughout their journey, from preparation to permanency and beyond.
