Toward Healing From Darkness to Hope Meet Casey, a man in his 30s living in the Fargo-Moorhead area. After facing a difficult breakup, he encountered incredibly dark thoughts that led to a pivotal moment in his life, a suicide attempt. Thankfully, that attempt was not successful and became the catalyst for a new chapter filled with healing and hope

Seeking help can be scary and difficult. With encouragement from a friend and thorough research, Casey discovered The Village Family Service Center’s Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). This program offers evidence-based tools for healing through both group and one-on-one mental health sessions.

When Casey began his IOP journey, he showed many signs of depression, feeling aimless, stuck, and unable to imagine a future. That began to change within the first couple of weeks. Casey absorbed the skills shared by the program’s clinicians and began implementing them in his daily life, starting a journey of personal transformation.

“Before I started IOP, I really didn’t see a future for myself. The more I was in the program, the further I could see the future I wanted to build for myself,” Casey shared.
