WE Fest 2026 hits Detroit Lakes August 5-8, and if you've already got your tickets, your camp spot, and your outfits locked in (you did read our full style guide, right?), there's one thing left to do: get your logistics dialed in so nothing gets in the way of a good time.

Get There Early or Get Stuck

Here's the truth nobody wants to hear: the drive-in is half the battle. Thursday and Friday afternoons turn into a slow crawl toward Soo Pass Ranch as thousands of fans converge at once. Beat the rush by rolling in earlier in the day rather than fighting the pack in peak afternoon hours, check WE Fest's maps and directions page for the best routes in. Your future self, the one who isn't sitting in a hot truck for two extra hours, will thank you.

Not camping on-site? The Detroit Lakes shuttle has you covered, running fans straight from the Fairgrounds to the WE Fest West Gate all weekend long. Grab a pass, ditch the parking stress, and let someone else do the driving.

Claim Your Camp Spot Like You Mean It

If you're camping (and if you're not, you're doing WE Fest wrong), get in early and stake your claim. The best spots go fast, and the difference between "front row to the party" and "half-mile hike to everything" comes down to how early you show up. Bring shade. Bring more shade than you think you need. The sun does not care about your plans.

Know Before You Go

A few concrete details that'll save you a headache on-site:

• Gates open at 2 p.m. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, with the Wednesday Kickoff Concert happening at the Barn Stage.

• Camping and concert tickets are two separate purchases. A concert ticket alone doesn't get you into the campgrounds; everyone in your camping group also needs a Camp Access wristband.

• Getting dropped off? The Hilltop Transit Area is the spot for rideshare and passenger drop-off, with a free shuttle running guests to the West Gate from there.

• Bag policy is strict. Bags larger than 4.5" x 6.5" must be clear with a single compartment, and nothing larger than 12" x 6" x 12" gets through the gate. A small clutch or fanny pack is your best bet.

• Check the forecast before you leave home. Soo Pass Ranch is open fields and natural terrain, so plan your footwear and rain gear around whatever August throws at you that week.

What to Bring (and Leave at Home)

Packing for a few nights of camping? Here's what you need to know before you load up the car.

Bring:

• Tent and rain fly, tarp, table and chairs

• Coolers with ice, food, and beverages (no glass)

• Sunscreen, bug spray, toilet paper, towels (showers are available on-site)

• A small lock for your tent

• Lawn games and anything that makes your site feel like home

• Propane grills (kept at least 12 inches off the ground)

• Generators (vented properly, shut off by 2 a.m.)

Leave at home:

• Glass containers

• Fireworks, drones, golf carts, and ATVs

• Pets

• Kegs and large hammers

• Offsite firewood (available for purchase at campground entrances)

• Political or divisive signage, WE Fest keeps camp family-friendly and reserves the right to remove anything considered offensive

Campfires:

• Allowed only in fire rings or above-ground fire pits

• Keep fires small and attended, fully extinguish if you're not right there

• Follow all Minnesota DNR burn restrictions when in effect
