Since its founding in 1996, the organization has grown from humble beginnings into a trusted resource for pediatric therapy in the Fargo community. With its playful approach to therapy and a commitment to evidence-based practices, Great Kids Therapy believes in treating the whole child—recognizing that a child’s success is intertwined with their family and environment.
A Journey Rooted in Compassion and Growth
Founded by occupational therapist Sarah Meinhardt, Great Kids Therapy began with a simple, personalized approach. From 1996 until 2016, Sarah operated the business from her home and vehicle, providing hands-on care to children in need. Along the way, she was driven by her expertise in sensory therapy and her dedication to helping kids thrive. This helped Sarah build a practice focused on meaningful progress.
In 2016, Great Kids Therapy opened its first clinic in West Fargo, which has helped them in their mission to serve the community on a larger scale. At the time, Sarah was the sole full-time therapist, supported by part-time providers.
In 2021, a new chapter began when occupational therapist Kelsey Kopp (Hoffmann) joined the team with the vision of purchasing the business. On August 1, 2022, Kelsey officially took over ownership, and under her leadership, the clinic has experienced rapid growth. In less than a year, the organization expanded to a new space ten times larger than the original clinic, allowing them to serve more families and continue their mission of fostering a positive and supportive environment.

Great Kids Therapy believes that children learn best through play and interaction. The team is committed to making therapy fun, engaging, and motivating. Each child that walks through their doors is treated like family, and the team works closely with parents to set meaningful goals that reflect the child’s unique needs and strengths.
