For nearly 100 years, United Way of Cass-Clay has been entrusted to lead how our community comes together to solve our region’s toughest challenges. We know that many of our neighbors are working hard to build stable lives, yet still encounter barriers to success. Families face challenges like access to food, housing, quality childcare, transportation, mental health, and the community resources needed to thrive.
Built by the community and for the community, United Way exists on the belief of this simple idea: when we unite, we achieve more than any one organization can alone.
First, United Way listens to gather data and insights about our community’s needs and what it will take to create better outcomes. This information guides a set of bold community goals designed to address root causes, not just immediate needs. Then, we bring together partners across nonprofit, business, and public sectors. Collaboration is part of our identity, and it ensures that investments made by donors, partners, and volunteers directly fuel measurable, lasting change right here at home.
These Verified Impact Partners listed below work with United Way, each other, and the community to create measurable and lasting social change. Receiving a United Way grant means these nonprofits are the best at what they do. These programs were carefully reviewed by the community, evaluated financially, and aligned with United Way’s mission—that’s what makes them “verified.”
Together, we believe that all families and children should have food and housing that meet their basic needs. We believe children can thrive when they are ready to learn and succeed in school and life. And ultimately, families can build resilience and find pathways to prosperity. Together, these nonprofits work toward three bold goals designed to lift families out of poverty across Cass and Clay Counties.
