Kids Eat Free (And Cheap) In Fargo, Moorhead and West Fargo

Kids eat free at more Fargo-Moorhead restaurants than you might think, but the fine print matters. Here’s where to start planning your next family meal.

There are nights when dinner needs to be something other than another task on the list. Maybe practice ran late, the refrigerator is looking uninspiring, or everyone could simply use a change of scenery. A restaurant meal can be a welcome break, and choosing the right day can make the bill a little easier to enjoy, too.

Around the metro, kids-eat-free offers range from a Tuesday buffet to a weekend meal with an adult entrée. The trick is knowing what qualifies. Some specials have an age cutoff, others require a minimum purchase, and a free entrée does not always include a drink. Here’s where to start planning your next family meal.

Ruby Tuesday

Fargo | Tuesday after 5 p.m. and Friday all day | Ages 12 and younger

Despite the name, Tuesday is not the only day to keep Ruby Tuesday on the family calendar. The restaurant advertises free meals for children 12 and younger on Tuesday evenings after 5 p.m. and throughout the day on Fridays, with the purchase of a full-priced adult entrée.

A burger night is one way to ease into the week, and both Fargo Sickies locations advertise a Monday kids-eat-free promotion. The automotive-themed restaurants give families two options across town, with a burger-focused menu for the adults and a free children’s meal among the Monday attractions.

Pizza Ranch

Fargo | Tuesday, 11 a.m.–8 p.m. | Ages 12 and younger

When the family cannot agree on one entrée, a buffet offers some flexibility. At Fargo’s Pizza Ranch, one child age 12 or younger receives a free buffet with each full-priced adult buffet purchased on Tuesdays from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Fargo’s Pizza Ranch also lists children ages 0–2 as free under its regular buffet pricing, separate from the Tuesday promotion. For children ages 3–12 visiting outside the special, the posted regular price is $1 per year of age.

Children’s chicken strips and macaroni and cheese are separate, paid menu items. For older siblings, the same menu lists the grill meal for ages 4–12 at $5.99.
